Lesson Nineteen — Tabernacle Instructions
Focus of Lesson
This lesson focuses on the establishment of the laws of Moses.
Pre-Class Assignments
This MUST be completed before class.
- Read Exodus 25:1-31:18 in your Bible.
- Prepare a story presentation of one of the elements of worship (table, altar, cherubim, etc). Present it in as much detail as possible. Research online to get a picture or video to accompany your presentation.
- Memorize Exodus 29:44-46 (in your heart language).
- Answer the Study Questions from the Study Questions Book.
- Write a 100-200 word response to the following question:
- Looking at the sacrifices of lambs and its blood, how does this foreshadow Jesus and the need for and the act of the cross?
Class Timeline (50 minutes)
- 2-3 Minutes: Opening Prayer led by students
- 3-5 Minutes: Bible Fluency Song, "Pentateuch" (to save time, this should be cued up before class).
- 5 Minutes: Quiz #17
- 7-10 Minutes: One student is randomly selected to present the story.
- 15-20 Minutes: Discuss the following questions with the students:
- Looking at the tabernacle and worship center setup, what are the elements of physical beauty?
- Why do you think so much detail and thought is put into the beauty of the worship center?
- Could this inform our thinking of how we make our worship centers? What should a church look like?
- What was the method used to fund and build the tabernacle and altars?
- Could this inform our thinking of how we fund the construction of our worship centers when church planting?
- 5-10 Minutes: Instructor closes with their feedback on the storytelling event and their own conclusions about key points raised during the discussion.
- 2-3 Minutes: Closing Prayer
