Instruction Format

The way this course is intended to be taught is through reading of the Bible, retelling of the story, learning and being tested on facts, and discussing key concepts derived from the story. For the instructor, the key focus in this lesson is the discussion portion.

During this portion, the instructor should be careful not to teach the class the answer by primarily telling the class what you know. Instead, the instructor should engage the students' minds by leading them in a discussion of the questions, allowing them to work through the issues and discover the answers themselves. Do this by using leading questions that keep the discussion going and guiding it so that students reach an accurate understanding of the issue at hand.Generally, the instructor should keep the amount of time that they are talking to less then 20% of the class.
