Lesson Four — Fall through Early Genealogy

This lesson focuses on the fall of man through Noah.
Pre-Class Assignments
This MUST be completed before class.
- Read:
- Gen 2:4-5:32 in your Bible
- Read Adam and Creation in Stories of Islam Booklet Series
- Prepare a story presentation of Gen 2-3 in a way that you think would be suitable to present to a Muslim. In this presentation, compare and contrast the narrative of the Bible vs the Quran and the difference in the identity of God in it. You may prepare it in any format you desire. One of you will randomly be called on to give this to the class. Take note of the grading rubric to ensure you meet the requirements.
- Answer the Study Questions from the Study Questions Book.
- Memorize Gen 3:15 (in your heart language).
- Write a 100-200 word response to the following questions:
- What are the effects of the curses due to the sin in Gen 2 in today's world? Is God justified to have those curses be on us even though the sin was done by Adam and Eve?
Class Timeline (50 minutes)
- 2-3 Minutes: Opening Prayer led by students
- 3-5 Minutes: Sing Bible Fluency Song Pentateuch thru Deuteronomy
- 5 Minutes: Quiz #2
- 7-10 Minutes: One student is randomly selected to present the story.
- 15-20 Minutes: Discuss the following questions with the students:
- What are the effects of the curses due to the sin in Gen 2 in today's world? Is God justified to have those curses be on us even though the sin was done by Adam and Eve?
- How are male-female relationships affected by the curse? What does this look like in marriage?
- What differences do you see in the nature of the Biblical vs the Quranic narratives here? How could that impact one's view of God's nature and his relationship to man?
- 5-10 Minutes: Instructor closes with their feedback to the storytelling event and their own conclusions about key points raised during the discussion.
- 2-3 Minutes: Closing Prayer
