1. As you read the parts of the Pentateuch (Exodus, Leviticus, and Deuteronomy) categorize and list the laws into the categories:
- Ceremonial Laws:
- Tabernacle and Temple Construction
- Priesthood (Appointment, Processes, purity, etc)
- Sacrifices
- Holy Days / Festivals
- Sabbaths
- Ceremonial Cleanliness (including Contact, Dietary, and Dress)
- Civil Laws:
- Judicial Procedures
- Property Rights
- Criminal Activity
- Business Dealings
- Family Law (e.g. Marriage and Divorce, Inheritance, etc)
- Warfare
- Moral Law
- Righteous Heart
- Idolatry and Witchcraft
- Sexual Morality
- Generosity
- Other Moral issues
2. Once each category is full, answer the following for each subcategory:
- Summarize in 30-60 words the nature of each category (e.g. Moral Law) and sub-category (e.g. Idolatry and Witchcraft).
- In 100-200 words, describe how you think each category (e.g. Moral Law) and sub-category (e.g. Idolatry) of the laws as given to Moses applies today.
